Goh is a lucky guy. His pokemon evolve without any effort. On previous episode, his Messon evolve into Jimereon without him being around, and now it evolve into its final form is kinda ridiculous.
Even Satoshi's starter water pokemon didn't evolve at all in previous series. Only Gekkoga that manage to evolve.

Unlike Goh, Ash don't always need to his pokemon to evolve. Sometime they are perfect the way they are. But Goh, the writer just feel it needed for no reason or lame excuse.

You could call it "development" but most people see no "build-up" to this development. One episode, a depressed Jimeleon. Hardly see it for 15 episodes, 16th episode it's training itself and evolves. Voila!

Rarely feel anything for Goh's pokemon evolutions tbh, except really Scorbunny, and that was because he was always with Goh and basically in every ep up until that point.

Where was the "arc"? The last major appearance of Jimeleon was 16 episodes ago where it literally just evolved into a depressed Jimeleon moping in a cave. I know it wanted to evolve, but this evolution seems totally undeserved. Besides, the fact that it trained itself entirely to evolve is somewhat amusing.

The point was that it needed to be left alone, that it needed time independently to grow and Goh was respecting his Pokemon's wishes. That was the point of the end of the episode when it evolved. however i do agree that it came out of nowhere, and would have preferred more time and connection spent

yuck, Go has been imitating and getting (Satoshi) Ash's character slowly but surely, I wouldn't be surprised if Go will be the main focus / protagonist on the next series (maybe after project mew?), completely getting rid of Ash Ketchum.

Goh's dream is being rushed to the fated confrontation with Mew, that will likely culminate by the end of this series. Koharu is every female supporting character ever -- crossover of Serena (in terms of discovering her purpose) and Lily (in terms of initial repulsion from Pokemon).

So I don't think these characters will take the lead. The next season could be similar to this one, in terms of having "side" characters take the centrestage instead of Ash while having him around. Or they could go for the tried and tested formula and reset Ash and just come up with a new region and league.

well I doubt they will reset Ash again, but we will get a new region for generation 9, so I am hoping that we see Ash traveling around with a new trainer that wants to do the gym challenge or something like that!! Also I thinking the next new region might be the west coast USA.

Yes I don't really mind too a series without Ash, I mean, his character is too repetitive..

I think a new protagonist every season would be nice too

though Digimon did that in the beginning and they only lasted so long, it would better if they just kept Ash again, but have a new trainer be something other then a researcher or coronador, would be nice to see someone else take the gym challenge.
